A new establishment to play snooker at called "147 Snooker Club" has just opened in Houston, Texas.

147 Snooker Club is the new snooker venture in Houston of the proprietor Mr. Syed Hassan, and is located in the west of the city at 3832 S. Dairy Ashford Road, close to the Houston's famous Energy Corridor district where many energy industry-related companies have their offices.

At present the club has four regulation standard snooker tables, all of the Riley brand imported from England, with one being a match table standard Riley Aristocrat and another planned to be added in the next month, and all tables are covered with Strachan 6811 cloth.

The club will also offer a fully functional café style restaurant, with a plan to serve a fusion of American and Asian style cuisine. A wide range of hot and cold soft beverages is available at present, with the possibility of alcoholic beverages being served in the future.

Also besides the playing of snooker, the club will offer table tennis for recreation and fitness.

Mr. Hassan would like to thank all of his family and friends for their help and support in the development of this new club, particularly to his wife Zainab Khan, who designed much of the new club, and to his daughter, Shehza.

The United States Snooker Association (USSA) would like to congratulate and wish Mr. Hassan every success for his new snooker venture, and the association hopes it will be a new host on next season's USSA Tour schedule.
