Stefanów stubs Deuel's dream

Corey Deuel's dream to qualify for 2016-17 World Snooker Tour has been stubbed as he suffered a round two defeat to Poland's Adam Stefanów in Event 1 of this year's World Snooker Q School at the Meadowside Leisure Centre in Burton-upon-Trent, England, which runs from May 11-22.
Deuel had scored his first ever victory at the Q School yesterday with a 4-3 defeat of Germany's Robin Otto, but the 2015 Polish Snooker Champion proved to be a much more difficult obstacle to overcome on this occasion.
After losing the first frame, Deuel hit back to level the match at 1-1 but he soon found himself 3-1 behind as the 22-year-old compiled a break of 58 in frame four.
The American however comprehensively won the fifth frame, but a break of 68 in the following frame was enough for Stefanów to claim the match 4-2 and advance into the round of 64.
The former United States National Snooker Champion will get a second opportunity to qualify in Event 2 of this year's Q School, and he has a first round bye with his round 2 match commencing May 13 at 4:30pm local UK time against either Englishmen James Burrett or Oliver Brown (8:30am PT in the United States).
SnookerUSA.com will follow Deuel's progress closely and report on his results.
