The reigning United States National Snooker Champion, Ahmed Aly Elsayed, heads the United States challenge at the 2019 International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championships, which are being staged at the Starlight Resort Hotel in Antalya, Turkey, from October 29 - November 9.
The United States has entered players into the Men's and Masters' events of these Championships, with Aly being automatically selected for the Men's event by virtue of winning his fifth United States National Snooker Championship title last month.
Two other spots in the Men's event were accepted by the two-time United States National Snooker Champion, Ajeya Prabhakar, and Laszlo Kovacs, who has played in five Championship quarterfinals.
The United States will be represented in the Masters' event, which is specifically for players aged forty years and over, by 59-year-old Nitin Mehta, who played fantastically well to reach the semifinals of this year's United States National Snooker Championship, and by 51-year-old Amitabh Seth, who is making his second appearance in the Masters' event after competing in Doha, Qatar, in 2017.
