Mehta completes a creditable victory in Turkey

2019 IBSF World Snooker Championships. Starlight Resort Hotel - Antalya, Turkey. October 29 - November 9

The United States' Nitin Mehta completed his Masters' event Group campaign with a victory on day eight of play at the 2019 International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championships at the Starlight Resort Hotel in Antalya, Turkey, and the draw for the knockout stage of Men's event has been made.

The Californian was playing for pride as he was not in a position to advance into the knockout stage of the Masters' event, but he ran out a very good 3-2 winner over India's Anuj Uppal who nevertheless still qualifies from Group M in third place.

Amitabh Seth also concluded his Group N matches in the Masters' event with a 3-0 loss to Qatar's Mohammad Al-Binali.

In the Men's event, both Ahmed Aly Elsayed and Ajeya Prabhakar managed to advance direct into the round of 64 after qualification from their respective Groups, with the reigning United States National Snooker Champion drawn against Poland's Mateusz Baranowski who won Group M, and Prabhakar facing Hong Kong's Wang Yuchen who won Group K.

Both round of 64 ties will be played tomorrow, November 6, with Aly's match commence at 1pm local time, and Prabhakar's match commencing at 4pm local time.
