USSA welcomes Aly to the Board

The United States Snooker Association (USSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of the five-time and reigning United States National Snooker Champion, Ahmed Aly Elsayed, to the Board as a director.

The USSA invited its key partner the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) to nominate a director to the USSA board, so the Billiards Room Committee of the NYAC chose their Room manager, Aly.
The NYAC has twice hosted the United States National Snooker Championship, and this year's Championship was anticipated to take place there before being canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
However it can be announced, circumstances permtting, that the NYAC will host the 2021 Championship, to be provisionally staged from September 3-6.

"I would like to thank the NYAC for their nomination and welcome Ahmed to the board of the USSA," commented Ajeya Prabhakar, the president of the USSA.
"I would particularly like to thank Mr. Joe Pash, the chairman of the NYAC Billiards Room Committee, and to the entire Committee for their leadership and their continued support of the USSA. We look forward to future collaborations with the NYAC and Aly in promoting the sport."
Aly was delighted to be nominated, and remarked: "Thanks for honoring me with the position on the board. I'm very happy and excited to be involved to promote the sport we love.
"I would also like to thank Ajeya and the NYAC for their support. I'm looking forward to working with you all."
The USSA will be announcing new director appointments to the USSA Board in the coming weeks.
