2021 United States National Snooker Championship

For the third time in the history of this great event, Ahmed Aly Elsayed will take on Ajeya Prabhakar in the final of the United States National Snooker Championship as the pair come through their 2021 semifinals at the New York Athletic Club (NYAC).

They have previously matched up together in the finals of the 2009 and 2011 Championships both played at the Prince Snooker Club in Brooklyn and Aly won on both occasions. In fact, they have played each other on six occasions during this Championship since 2009, and Prabhakar's only success came in the semifinal of the 2012 Championship at the Embassy Billiards Club in San Gabriel, California, where he came out 4-2 on top.

The Brooklyn player is now on the verge of winning a record sixth Championship title, as the Californian goes for a third title from his seventh final.

Number one seed Aly had a very commanding 4-1 semifinal victory over Raymond Fung, who defeated him in the 2017 Championship final at the NYAC.

Prabhakar had a much tougher semifinal test however, as the first five frames were closely fought and he trailed his New York opponent Keith Zhen 2-3.

The number three seed has found himself in this position on several occasions though in the history of this Championship, and has come good when his back has been firmly against the wall. Again this was the case, as Prabhakar played two excellent subsequent frames to win the tie 4-3.

The semifinals results as follows:
