The United States Snooker Association (USSA) along with the Pan American Billiards & Snooker Association (PABSA) are pleased to announce the historic first staging of the U.S. Women's Snooker Open, which is a joint initiative between World Women's Snooker (WWS) and Ox Billiards in Seattle.

The landmark ranking tournament will be the second event of the 2022-23 World Women's Snooker Tour, and for the first time provides women and girls from the Americas region with an opportunity to compete on the circuit without having to travel to Europe or Asia.

The tournament, which will take place at Ox Billiards from August 26-28, is also set to welcome participants from outside of the United States with players from around the world having already expressed interest in competing.

Recently the host Ox Billiards announced their sponsorship of one of the world's leading women players, Rebecca Kenna from England, who will be making her debut as a professional player on the World Snooker Tour in the forthcoming 2022-23 season.

Alan Morris, the Executive Director of the USSA, commented: "This is a major and exciting moment for the development of snooker in the United States, to have the opportunity to stage a prestigious World Women's Snooker Tour event.
