2022 Pan American Snooker Championships - The Corner Bank, Toronto, Canada. October 22 - 30

Ahmed Aly Elsayed is just one match win away from giving the United States representation on the professional World Snooker Tour, as he faces Canadian Amar Sadeg in the Open Event final of the 2022 Pan American Snooker Championships at The Corner Bank in Toronto, Canada.

After suffering the disappointment of not successfully defending his Seniors Event title, Aly gained revenge for that final defeat by Vito Puopolo by this time overcoming the reigning Canadian Snooker Champion 4-3 in the quarterfinals of the Open Event.

In the semifinals the record six-times former United States National Snooker Champion, who surprisingly lost in the round of 16 of this year's Championship to a great performance by Romil Azemat, produced breaks of 37, 68, 90 and 40 to carve out a hard-fought 4-3 win over Brazil's Noel Rodrigues Morreira.

Last year's runner-up, Chicago's Renat Denkha, fell 4-2 in the round of 16 to Itaro Santos, however the former Brazilian professional, who was one of the favorites to win this Open Event title and book a return to the World Snooker Tour, lost 4-1 in quarterfinals to Rodrigues Morreira.

The twice former United States National Snooker Champion Ajeya Prabhakar also made it through to the quarterfinals after winning his Group and then defeating Canadian Jason Williams 4-3 in the round of 16, though lost on the final colors in the final frame 4-3 to the Canadian John Brooks.

Brooks had come through against Jouzif Aldalo in the round of 16 after defeatng the American 4-0, with the fifth United States player who advanced from the Group phase, Rajneesh Bansal, losing in the round of 16 to Rodrigues Morreira 4-1.
