When Zia Sheik moved to the Nashville area in 2018 he could not find a snooker table, so after three years in the planning he opened the Nashville Snooker Academy to spread the word of the sport in the state of Tennessee.

Mr. Sheik was born and raised in India and that is where his passion for the sport developed, though he moved to Tampa in Florida in 2014. While he found that there were many pool rooms to play in, only a few had a snooker table tucked away in corner and they were not of the quality he had become accustomed to playing on.

However in 2016 he relocated to Sunnyvale in California and was excited to connect with a snooker club there. Not only was he reunited with a proper snooker table set-up, but was surrounded by like-minded players that had the same skill and passion for the game.

This rejuvenated Sheik's love for the game, as it enabled him to participate in monthly competitions and playing alongside some of the nation's top snooker competitors.

Now in Nashville, Sheik is proud to offer the first private snooker academy in the state of Tennessee, which provides similar playing conditions as experienced by professional players.

The Nashville Snooker Academy is initially taking baby steps, so featured one Xingpai Star Tournament snooker table fitted with Strachan No.10 cloth, a professional predator arena snooker light, and a professional digital scoreboard. The Academy also offers coaching for beginners and a mission to promote snooker and introduce the younger generation to this beautiful game.
