The semifinals of the 2023 United States National Snooker Championship are underway, as the defending champion Steven Wong takes on Romil Azemat and Cheang Ciing Yoo matches up against Daren Mark Taylor at the Embassy Billiards Club in San Gabriel, California.

The Californian number one seed, who came through the semifinals after a comfortable 4-0 victory over New York's Kevin Wong, is looking to emulate Tom Kollins, David Yao and Ahmed Aly Elsayed who all sucessfully defended the title after winning it for the first time.

For Wong's opponent Arizona's Romil Azemat, he will be looking to achieve the amazing feat of booking his second final appearance seventeen years after making his first where he was defeated in 2006 by the late Paul Kimura at the Embassy Billiards Club.

Washington's Cheang Ciing Yoo has had an impressive record in recent Championships after making the final in 2019, so the number two seed will be desperate to reach the final again but will face a tough opponent in Daren Mark Taylor from Arizona, son of the English former top-16 ranked professional player David Taylor, who is making his Championship debut this year.
