Steven Wong has secured a second successive appearance in the final of the United States National Snooker Championship, as the defending champion will take on Daren Mark Taylor at the Embassy Billiards Club in San Gabriel, California, for the title and The Tom Kollins Trophy.

Wong had a comprehensive victory over the 2006 Championship runner-up Romil Amezat 4-0, who was well below the form he showed during his quarterfinal defeat of the three-time former champion Sargon Isaac, as he amounted just 60 points in the whole match.

Wong stroked in a run of 41 in the first frame to go 1-0 ahead, and although he had no further significant breaks in the match, he did not need to produce any as the owner of the Arizona Snooker Academy just could not find any form and wilted through the match.

Taylor came through yet another hard fought battle, hot on the heels of his 4-3 win over Renat Denkha in the quarterfinals.

The son of the English former top-16 professional player David Taylor, his calming demeanor around the table must have belied what he has been feeling inside during his debut Championship, as he also came close to defeat in the Round of 32 to Ajeya Prabhakar.

After claiming a 3-1 advantage over the number two seed which included breaks of 33 and 62, Yoo his back strongly with two very decisive frames to level the match at 3-3.

The 2019 Championship runner-up then gained the upper-hand in the final frame, though Taylor produced a break of 54 to claim frame and the match.

The commencement of the final has been put back half-an-hour and will now start at 2:30pm local Pacific time, 5:30pm Eastern Time.
