2025 United States National Snooker Championship - The Champion Snooker Club. Concord, California. May 23 - 26

The Champion Snooker Club is ready to host the United States National Snooker Championship for the first time from May 23-26, as Chicago's Renat Denkha heads to Concord in California to defend the title he won last year.

It has been a remarkable past eight months for Denkha which has seen him win three big snooker titles in the United States, as in addition to winning his first United States National Snooker Championship title back in November, two months prior to that he won the Embassy Open, and then this past March he was victorious in the U.S. Snooker Masters.

As Championship tradition dictates, the defending champion always plays group match number one and so Denkha will be in Group A action at 9am tomorrow against local player Alex Kopel.

Unfortunately the champions of 2022 and 2023, Steven Wong and Daren Taylor respectively, were unavailable to play this year, although three former champions will be participating.

The three-time Champion Sargon Isaac is the number eight seed, and the two unseeded former Champions are the two-time Champion Ajeya Prabhakar, and the six-time Champion Ahmed Aly Elsayed. Aly is back to try and extend his record number of titles after playing two seasons on the professional World Snooker Tour.

The Championship is being played using an initial round-robin format of eight groups, one seeded player per group, played on May 23 & 24, with the winner of the group advancing directly into the round of 16. The group's second and third placed players will advance into the round of 24 for the right to play a group winner in the round of 16. The knockout rounds will be played over May 25 & 26.

The group draws, match schedule and results can all be followed in real time by visiting the 2025 United States National Snooker Championship tournament page on Cloud Snooker, which is the USSA's official tournament running and scoring system platform.

The players are competing for The Tom Kollins Trophy, named after the five-time Champion who passed away in 2020. The trophy was donated in Tom's memory by the World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association (WPBSA) and also Barry Hearn, the Chairman of the World Snooker Tour (WST).

Alan Morris, the Executive Director of the USSA, said: "It is always so very satisfying and special to stage this prestigious Championship at a new host, as it underlines the growing interest in snooker and the need to open more facilities.

"I would like to offer my gratitude to the owner of The Champion Snooker Club, Mr. Sanaullah Ansari, who has been incredibly enthusiastic about hosting this Championship, and he has invested in the event by reclothing eight tables to provide the players with the best possible playing conditions.

"I would also like to offer my thanks to the players who are coming from all across the United States to play, and I hope they have a fantastic experience and play their best snooker. It really will be yet again another tremendous event."
