The winner of the Open Championship will receive a coveted two-year spot to compete as a professional on the World Snooker Tour (WST) from the 2026-27 season, and the winner of the Seniors Championship will compete in next year's World Seniors Snooker Championship at the Crucible in Sheffield, England.

The reigning and two-time United States National Snooker Champion, Renat Denkha, will be putting up a very strong challenge for the United States in both the Seniors Championship and the Open Championship, where he will be joined by the former two-time United States National Snooker Champion, who he defeated in this year's final, Ajeya Prabhakar.

There are also three more former United States National Snooker Champions participating in Sacramento, with the three-time champion Sargon Isaac competing in the Open Championship, and Steven Wong and Daren Taylor playing in both the Seniors Championship and the Open Championship.

Although there is an incredibly strong contingent of players from both the United States and Canada playing in these Championships who are capable of winning, the probable favorite to win both crowns will be Brazil's former WST professional Igor Figueiredo, who has previously won both Championships and won the World Seniors Snooker Championship at the Crucible in Sheffield, England, in 2024. Another Brazilian contender for the Open Championship will be the 2021 winner and former WST professional, Victor Sarkis.

Ajeya Prabhakar, President of PABSA, was quoted on the World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association (WPBSA) website as commenting: "This is the biggest snooker event in the Pan American region and for some players it could be life changing. We are grateful to the WPBSA and WST for their continued support of our region and for helping provide pathways for our players to reach the sport's highest stages."
