Denkha heads American challenge in Doha

The reigning United States National Snooker Champion, Renat Denkha, heads the American challenge at this year's International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championships, which are to be held in Doha, Qatar, from November 3-11.

The Championships will have events for both Men and Women, and will feature three players representing the United States in the Men's event which consists of two stages.

Stage 1 will be played at the Qatar Billiards & Snooker Federation (QBSF) Academy, where 16 sixteen players will qualify to join 32 pre-qualified players for a 48-player Stage 2 to be contested at the Ezdan Palace Hotel.

Denka, who won his second successive United States National Championship title at The Champion Snooker Club in Concord, California, back in May, has pre-qualified for Stage 2.

The former two-time United States National Snooker Champion Ajeya Prabhakar, who was defeated by Denkha in this year's final, has also pre-qualified for Stage 2.

The third American player in Doha will be Andy McCloskey, who was a semifinalist in this year's United States National Snooker Championship, and earlier this year won his second successive Seattle Snooker Open. McCloskey will start his campaign in Stage 1.
