All three United States players have been eliminated after the Stage 2 Group phase of play in the Men's event of the 2025 International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championships in Doha, Qatar.

This year's United States National Snooker Champion and runner-up, Renat Denkha and Ajeya Prabhakar respectively, automatically qualified to compete in the Stage 2, with Denkha being drawn in Group F and Prabhakar in Group F.

Denkha lost his first and second group matches both 4-1 to Germany's Simon Lichtenberg and Qater's Ahmed Saif respectively, and so faced Chau Hon Man in his final group match unable to progress.

Chau was the group's leading player after winning his two previous matches, and it was a match where Denkha finally showed his form as he defeated the player from Hong Kong 4-3.

Prabhakar was in a very tough group and performed well below par as he went down to three straight 4-0 defeats at the hands of Iran's Amir Sarkhosh, Qatar's Ali Alobaidli and Hong Kong's Fung Kwok Wai respectvely.

Andy McCloskey qualified for Stage 2 after coming through Stage 1, and he was drawn in Group D. After losing 4-1 to England's Harvey Chandler in his first match, he then hit back strongly by overcoming Australia's Hassan Kerde 4-1.

McCloskey then faced Bashar Abdulmajeed in his final match, in the knowledge that a win over the home Qatari player, who had lost both of his previous group matches, would insure he advances out of the group.

After losing the first two frames narrowly on the final colors, McCloskey won frame three though he could not build on it and went onto lose the match 4-1.
