The 2026 World Snooker Championship gets underway at the Crucible in Sheffield, England, from April 18 - May 4, and snooker fans in the U.S. can watch all the action live by subscribing to WST Play, the official streaming platform of the professional World Snooker Tour (WST).

Members of the top-16 seeded players walked the special green carpet in Tudor Square in the center of Sheffield today on the eve of the Championship, which gave the fantastic opportunity for snooker fans to line the carpet and ask for autographs and selfies.

The Championship is the pinnacle and concluding event of the World Snooker Tour season, and this year China's Zhao Xintong is the defending champion after he defeated the three-time champion Mark Williams 18-12 in last year's final.

The top-16 ranked players are seeded through directly to the first round, where they face the sixteen players who came through the qualifying rounds.
