Peter Du has won Event 3 of the 2026 United States Snooker Association (USSA) National Tour, after capturing the 2026 The Champion USSA Open at The Champion Snooker Club in Concord, California.

The event attracted a very strong field of players which included the winner of the previous USSA Tour event in Colorado, Shahram Changezi, who traveled from Houston to compete, and also previous United States National Snooker Championship semifinalists, Hasanain Alsultani, Jacky Wei and Nitin Mehta.

Du started out in Group D where he had three 2-0 victories to book his place in the round of 16 to face Niv Shmueli. He then proceeded to overcome Shmueli 3-0, and then forged a 3-1 quarterfinal success over Mehta, the 2019 United States National Snooker Championship semifinalist.

In the semifinals Du had a narrow surprise 4-3 win over Changezi to secure a final match against Alsultani, who appeared in last year's United States National Snooker Championship semifinal at this very same venue.

Du has shown incredible progression with his snooker in the past year as he failed to qualify from his group in last year's United States National Snooker Championship, and his fantastic 5-2 victory over such an accomplished player in this final will give him the confidence to make a big impression on this year's Championship in September.
